Find any setting in your FreshStore admin in seconds

You know that feeling when you remember tweaking a setting once but you cannot recall which page it was on? Was it under Design? Store Settings? Some sub-tab buried three levels deep?

The admin global search now solves that. Type any part of a field name, or even a related phrase, and it shows up. Click the result, and you land on the right page with the right tab already open and the field briefly spotlit.

TL;DR

  • The admin search box (top of every dashboard page, or Cmd+K / Ctrl+K) now finds individual settings, design options, text fields, links, and images, not just records.
  • Each result tells you the type (Image, Text, Option, Link, Setting) and the page and section where you can edit it.
  • Click a result and you land on the right page with the right tab already open, with the field briefly spotlit so you cannot miss it.
  • Synonyms work. “Callout”, “og image”, “powered by” all jump to the right field.

Why this matters

A FreshStore admin has a lot of fields. Between Store Settings, Design, Text, Pages, and the per-country marketplace credentials, there are hundreds of inputs you might want to edit. Until now, finding a specific one meant remembering its home and clicking through tabs. If you are new, that is a ton to learn. If you have been around a while, it is still a daily papercut.

So we made it findable. Type what you want, click, you are there.

What you can search for

Everything editable in the Settings, Design, Text, and Pages sections is now in the index:

  • Store Settings: every field across Store, Product, Offers, Articles, Traffic, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, AliExpress, Walmart, and API Keys, including per-country credentials like “amazon DE api key” or “ebay GB tracking ID”.
  • Design: colour scheme, typography, logo, global options, product options, headers, footers, hero, highlight boxes.
  • Text: every editable piece of frontend text on your store. Newsletter title, cart button label, checkout link text, and so on.
  • Pages: any homepage, cart, contact, about, newsletter, or page-specific text, link, or option.

Smart keyword matching

Searching by exact field name works, but you can also use everyday words. The index has a curated set of synonyms for the most common things, so:

  • “highlight box 3” jumps to the homepage’s third highlight box link
  • “og image” or “social preview” finds the Default Social Image
  • “powered by” finds the FreshStore Link in the footer
  • “callout” or “feature box” finds the homepage highlight boxes
  • “amazon US tag” jumps straight to your US Amazon tracking ID

If you ever search for something and do not get the right result, let us know and we will add the synonym.

What happens when you click a result

Three things, in quick succession:

  1. You go to the page that owns the field.
  2. The right tab is opened automatically (e.g. the Footer tab on Global Options, or the Images tab on a Page edit).
  3. A soft amber spotlight briefly highlights the exact field, with the rest of the page dimmed for around 2.5 seconds so it is easy to spot. Then it fades and you are ready to edit.

No focus ring on the input, no tinted background, no scrolling through tabs.

Per-country marketplace fields

Marketplace credentials (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, AliExpress, Walmart) have one set per supported country, which used to mean a lot of scrolling. Each per-country field is now individually findable. Type the country code in your query for a precise hit:

  • “amazon de api key” goes straight to your German Amazon API key
  • “ebay gb tracking” goes straight to your UK eBay tracking ID
  • “etsy us shared secret” goes straight to your US Etsy shared secret

Tips

  • If two fields share a name (like “Title”), check the Section detail under each result to disambiguate.
  • Keep your query short and specific for the best ranking. The search returns the top relevant matches first.
  • Clicking anywhere on the page after the highlight appears just dismisses the dim and lets you keep working.

Next steps

Open your store admin, click the search box at the top of the page (or hit Cmd+K), and try a few searches. We have put together a short feature guide at https://guides.freshstore.com if you want a longer walkthrough.

If a field is not showing up that you expected to find, that is a missing synonym we should add. Reply to this post or hit the support button in the admin and we will get it indexed.
